Will this idea be enough to become a millionaire?
Today is September 14, 2022, and while winemakers are busy harvesting, I decided to introduce the readers of the Yellow Road blog to my new idea - printing a print on the inside of packaging cardboard boxes (an unusual way to promote paper works - collages).
For example, you bought a piano. Or TV. Yes, in general, it doesn’t matter what you bought, but how the product is packaged is important. It is desirable that it be packed in a cardboard box. And then the fun begins. Have you ever thought about the fact that the packaging itself can cost more than any item packed in it? Have you ever wondered? Then you are in for a surprise. So, you took, say, a TV out of the box and already decided to drag it towards the trash can, when an inner voice told you: Stop! Do not rush! Look inside! You carefully examine the box and notice some pattern (print) inside the box. Congratulations, you're in luck!.. Your purchase has been "wrapped" in a picture. More specifically, a collage. Why is the collage printed inside the box? The main thing is to keep the intrigue (after all, the print will not be printed on every box, but only on the “winning” box, like in a lottery) and protect the picture from external influences as much as possible. The seal will have a number. The circulation of this circulation, the size and the author will also be indicated. Each edition must be signed by the author. I hope that the first picture on the box will be mine. Well, I came up with this myself, and I will answer it myself. And now some lyrics, and then we will continue.
Do you know how much the prints of the famous artist cost now? Not? Go to the site of the auction house "Sotheby's"
1)Andy Warhol , Marilyn Monroe, estimate £80,000-120,000, current bid: £90,000. 90 thousand, I'm not lying! 2) "Mick Jagger" (also by Warhol), current bid is £85,000. 3) Roy Lichtenstein "The Girl from the Ship", current bid £30,000, or Barnett Newman (etching, untitled). It features a black vertical stripe (slightly wider than a finger) for £50,000. And it's all.
Of course, there are cheaper prints, well, for absolutely ridiculous money, 2-3 thousand pounds.
I also recommend visiting the Christie's website. It was there that the "Savior of the World" was recently sold for 400.000 million + 50 million of the auction commission. And today there you can buy Banksy from four prints at once. I think the whole marketing team worked on the title of the masterpiece: "Laugh now, but one day we will be at the helm." ESTIMATE 70.000 - 100.000 pounds sterling, In general, circulations are different, prices are also for every taste.
Well, now, after a little artillery preparation, let's get back to our project. As the author of the idea, I am certainly interested in the fact that the first impressions on the boxes are mine. I have selected some of the most famous brands with which I enter into correspondence. Technical issues (and economic ones too) are solved empirically. The circulation of a collage (given that the products of a well-known brand is usually in the millions) can be in the region of 5000 or 7000 pieces. The number of different collage pictures is about 70. There are about 70 thousand prints per company. One collage can be put up for sale for a few euros. But this should not affect the final cost of the purchase (item out of the box). All additional costs (printing images, lighting marketing, etc.) must be borne by the company (due to a sharp increase in the number of future sales).
Yes, a relatively large circulation will help to seriously expand the circle of collectors specializing in engravings, and will enable some of them to collect a complete collection of "boxed" engravings. Well, about the funniest part of the project, actually about the presentation (which is just around the corner), . There will be several collages at the presentation, which will be sold immediately. Their destiny is to provide start-up capital for the emerging (especially for this project) Center for Timely Art.
Here are just the names of a few future collage paintings to (again) please you at the presentation with something new and tasty (except for sweets): -4-page collage: "Jeanne in June", "Jeanne in July", "Jeanne in August" and "September without Jeanne" - "Nikolai got a dog, not a motorcycle..." - How two sailors (Kolya and Vitya) from the tugboat "Resourceful" blocked the entire Bosphorus with their vests (I will make a reservation right away, to be honest, not could, because "Resourceful" stalled halfway, without reaching the Bosphorus)
And a brief instruction for action with an empty box. Carefully open the box (along the fold lines). On the dotted line drawn near the print, cut out (with scissors, a mock-up knife) the picture and go to the nearest frame workshop. Decoration in the workshop, for example, "Visiting Gauguin" (pictured). with dimensions: 80 by 76 cm, it will cost you 90 euros
